Climbing the Mountain – June 10, 2012 – (dream after fasting)
I awoke early Sunday morning about 3:30 a.m. and couldn’t go back to sleep, so I got up and went to my prayer chair. I put praise and worship music on, but it seemed like God’s presence was far from me. I meditated a while, but knew I needed to feel God’s presence. I started calling out to God, telling him how thankful I was for who he is to me – telling him not to hide from me –praising his name, and thanking Him for so many things. This dialogue went on for about 30 – 40 minutes or so.
After a while, I saw myself climbing a high mountain in an open vision. I kept climbing and climbing. The mountain was very steep and very rugged. The mountain seemed to be going straight up at times instead of at an angle, but I knew I had to keep climbing and not give up. Other times, I felt like I would not ever reach the top, but there was no place to stop and rest, so I had to keep climbing.
When I reached the top of the mountain, I sat down to rest from the strenuous climbing. After what seemed like only a few minutes, I then saw myself standing on the mountain top with a staff in my hand stretching outwards. All of a sudden, I heard the voice of God saying “He has given me the staff of Moses (which represented power), and that I should use it through my mouth and with my hands. Speak to things and they will move – point to things and they will move – walk and the path will be cleared as I walk”.
