New Shoes: An Answered Prayer For The Homeless, Hungry And Needy
January 17, 2024
[2014]
In the Ministry of Helping the Homeless, Needy and Hungry people at that time, we needed shoes to give to many who did not have sufficient shoes to wear. In our ministry building, there were thirteen different rooms. We had a separate room for infants, toddlers and small children, boys and men, young girls, and women. There were also three area rooms dedicated to non-perishable food items, toiletries, and frozen foods; a prayer room, and class meeting room for instructional teachings about food preparation, and other topics.
When the staff and I recognized a great emergency need for different size tennis shoes, we came together holding hands in prayer, asking God for mercy and help in this emergency situation. We thanked God for what He had already blessed our hands to do, and how grateful we were for the opportunity and favor He had given us in our city to help many people. We then asked the Lord to provide us with enough shoes needed for our present need, and we thanked Him for the provision of shoes, in Jesus name.
A few hours later, a man with a box truck pulled into the ministry parking lot and came inside. He acknowledged that we were a ministry that freely gave to the less fortunate, and then asked if we needed shoes. He explained he had new shoes in his truck to give out, and could we use them for our clients.
When I called the staff and told them what our visitor was offering, everyone began thanking and praising God, shaking his hand while telling him how we had just prayed a few hours before; asking God to send us enough shoes needed for our homeless and needy people. He had unisex shoes that everyone could wear, and what a direct blessing from the hand of the Lord for the great need we had.
The man smiled, and walk back to his truck. He made many trips bringing the bounty of gifts to us from heaven... New Shoes. There were many boxes of shoes, and with different sizes - Praise God! Tears were streaming down our faces, for we could hardly contain the joy we had in our hearts; because these shoes were different sizes, different colors, and were very fashionable.
He was a humble man. I offered a prayer of favor and thanksgiving over him and asked the Lord to bless him above all he could think or imagine, by giving us the gift we so urgently needed for the people God loved. We began praising God and thanking Him for answering our prayer in our time of need. God has been so good to our ministry, with all types of abundance given to us through churches, organizations, and individuals who had a servant's heart. We never had a lack of provisions to give out, and always had willing volunteers to help serve wherever there was a need.
This is just one of the many testimonies of what God had done in the ministry during Its existence. I will always Praise Him, give Him glory for Who He is, and what He has done all the days of my life. Thank you Lord, for YOu deserve all the glory and honor, for YOU alone, are worthy to be praised. Amen, and Amen!
[Even though the Cynthia Pinckney Ministries (CPM) is not serving in that capacity today, we are yet extending help to individuals in specified areas of service; while partnering with other ministries by supplying gifts and donations to help them, help others].
