How Is Your Father Treating You?

How Is Your Father Treating You?

Take A Seat, This Is A Long One, But Worth Your Time.

After reading the title, who was the person that flashed across your mind. Was it your earthly dad, foster dad, stepdad, etc.? Most times when a question of this type is asked of us, we think about our present position in life concerning the question, or where we're at in the progression of life regarding this question.

If you have a father on earth, and he has been and yet is the most awesome person in your life, your first reaction would probably be - my wonderful dad - no one can surpass him especially in the way he has shown his love for me in the many different ways that fashioned my life; Or You would probably say how you have seen him literally give up much of his life to make sure you were properly provided for and showing by example how the love of a dad should look.

Now, from the prospective of men, it would probably be said..."how dad taught me ways to become the head of my household...how to love and to make sure I give special times to them...how he demonstrated his love for me while sharing his failures, uncertainties, illusion, and most of all truth with me...taught me to be tough, but also how to show my feelings, and  those times were and are, precious to me."

Let us tilt to the opposite side of the spectrum. Did the thought of reading about that name brought dread, pain, overcoming fear, hate or very pronounced dislike - just remembering? As your mind began bringing back pictures you thought were long buried, the subject matter made you shudder in fear, caused you to go to a place you never wanted to go; which in turned, caused you to shut down, and feel like your whole world had changed. Times before, you had learned to control the thoughts and feelings of your childhood. You mastered them - put them in a closet and shut the door...or so you thought.

I'm so sorry if you had to experience that in your life, or if you are still going through the hurt, the pain and trauma; I speak peace, comfort, and healing to you, in Jesus name, as you travel this road to complete healing. If you have accepted Jesus in your heart, I know by His Spirit He is leading you step by step to wholeness and deliverance in many ways, and enabling you to walk in direction you never imagined. He wants nothing more for you than wholeness in your mind, soul, and spirit. Just keep following the lamb and reaching out for the help He is providing for and to you along your journey.

God has a plan for your life, and because of His love for you - He takes you by the hand through the process, so you may be delivered and set free. Many people don't understand that it is a process you have to walk out and through, daily.

If you have not received the Holy Spirit and would like to receive the Spirit of God inside your heart to be able to experience the love of a Good Heavenly Father, please email me so I can communicate with resources, testimonies, and prayer.

I was blessed to have a great earthly father, but have gone through lots of trauma with close people, relatives/leaders in my life who have abused me mentally and physically.

The pain and heart break went deep because these were people I looked up to and respected. The recovery road was long for me because I didn't feel like I should forgive them. I knew what God's Word said about un-forgiveness, but I also thought how could God allow them to get away with what they had done to me and to others, and yet go on with their lives as though nothing happened.

Many times I felt that God was just waiting for me to make a mistake, and his hammer would come down to crush me more, because I wasn't perfect. With prayers, counseling, and other efforts/understanding in scripture, I can say I have learned and yet learning how-to walk-in freedom. Once I made up my mind to forgive them to keep my own sanity, health, wellbeing, and a closer walk with God, I allowed my heart to release the hurt and pain in stages, and to keep releasing it.

The driving force in asking this question led me thinking about the goodness of God in my life today, and how and what he has been to me all through my years of living. I have had to walk through many things, and without the help of God, I would not have made it. I had to know and believe, that He is my Father and that He takes responsibility for my growing in Him, because no one else can do that.

I had to learn that He is a multifaceted God (a God who has many sides, who is trustful, and so much more). I needed to learn His attributes, His character after being blind-sided by the recklessness of other people. I had to learn He could be a Good Father by me accepting Him in my heart, offering my life to Him so He could use me for His kingdom agenda.

His desires would become my desires, and my service to Him would be what He wanted it to be. I had to know and believe that even though I felt weak, He wanted to show Himself strong in my life, so I could have strength to say, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Philippians 4:13.

I had to know and believe that when I needed Him, He was always there for me. I had to know and believe, that no matter what came up in my life, I could trust His perfect will for me even when I didn't understand the process. I had to believe He knew my ending from the beginning, and that I could trust Him completely as He takes me through the path and corridors of my destiny.

Let me express a few of His Names/Characteristics, so you can rejoice with me as you think about yourself in the scheme of things, and who He is/ or can be to you.

He Is...

My Hiding Place - when I don't know what to do, or where to go. I can always hide in Him and feel His comfort. Psalm 32:7.

My Battering Ram - when the enemy put stubborn obstacles in my path that don't want to move, God in His timing moves them, or helps me to go through them - with Him leading the way in front of me. Ezekiel 26:9.

My Protector - from the arrows, darts, that are shot toward me to cause my demise. Psalm 25, Psalm 91.

My Provider - When I need a miracle in different areas of my life, even when the enemy thought I would fall on my face. Philippians 4:19.

My Comforter - When the trials and tribulations of this world bring sadness, grief, or anything that is a detriment to me, or mine, I find comfort in knowing I have a God who loves me, and my tears touches His heart, and He feels my pain. John 14:16.

My Father - keeps loving me in spite of the many things that may cause me to stumble, He never gives up on me no matter what, He keeps chasing me, never leaving or forsaking me, and calls me His daughter through it all. Matthew 6:9 - 13.

My Healer - Heals my body, relationships, and especially my mind. Exodus 15:26, Psalm 147: 2.

My Savior - That I may be secure in knowing He has forgiven my sins, and I am now in the family of God. 1 John 2:2, Mark 10:45.

My Counselor - Because of His Holy Spirit residing in me, I am assured that I can be led and guided into all truth, and not be deceived. Isaiah 9: 6.

My Deliverer - No matter what has attached itself to me generationally, or intentionally sent to me vengefully or done to me; and because of who He is, I can be delivered from them all, in Jesus (Yeshua) name. Psalm 18: 2.

My Friend - When it seems like everyone has turned their backs to me, I can talk to Him about anything, I can laugh with Him, I can cry to Him, and never feel intimidated or ashamed, and I can share all my secrets and feel safe and secure with Him. John 15: 13.

There are so many more names/attributes of my Heavenly Father I have had to call upon, trust and depend on in many areas and times in my life such as; Answerer, Bright Morning Star, Beginning and Ending, Everlasting Father, Covenant Keeper, Fortress, Faithful, Holy One, Unchanging God, Strength, Shield, Shelter, Truth, Way-Maker, Warrior, Righteous, Battering Ram, Battle Ax, and many more I called upon him in times of trouble, and I am so happy I have Him as my Father... for He is never too busy.

I don't know what I would have done in some instances if I didn't know Him as a Father, who could be touched by my petitions, tears, sorrows, disappointments, and prayers. Being filled with His Holy Spirit, gives me the right and authority to come into His presence. When I submit myself to Him, I always feel I am a part of the family of God...because submission brings me to a place of feeling the pure love He has for me, and that His love is not manipulated.

Submission to His Word does not make me feel weak, it makes me feel I can roll my burdens on Him for He cares for me. Oh, what a loving God. I love the way His presence and love makes me feel. In His Presence, I have fullness of joy. In His Presence, I feel like I have His undivided attention. In His Presence, He makes me feel so special, and I have the full assurance He is in full control over my life, even when I am going through tough and insurmountable trials and tribulations.

I don't fault God for what I may be, or have gone through, I hold fast to what David said in Psalm 23: 4 -   "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Again, how is your father treating you? Can you feel His adoration towards you as being His child, His faithful servant, His warrior, and so much more. Can you count the times the Spirit of God intervened for you at a pivotal moment? Do you remember the times you were counted down and out, and God raised you back up before the eyes of your enemy? Do you remember the time you needed finances for your home, food for your family, and you received them without trying to make a way out of no way for yourself?

Do you remember God either healed you or a family member or provided provisions and you knew - only God provided in that way just for you? Did you go through the beginnings of foreclosure with no foreseeable way of not losing your home, or your car, and the supernatural hand of God came through for you - especially when you had been told it was out of the lender and Judge's hand...or the time when the doctors said they couldn't do anything else for you?

Take a moment to think about the many times you thought everything was over for you. Look at you today - you are yet standing and in your right mind. What an awesome Father you have. Hallelujah! You may look a little tattered and torn because of the many fierce battles you've had to wade through, but you made it. Some people will call it luck, but you know without a doubt, it was God, showing His love and care for you. It doesn't matter what others may feel or think, it is what you know and believe in your heart. Praise God!

Our world is changing by the minute, and we need to open our eyes to see what God intends for us to know and believe, so we can be led by His Holy Spirit to do what He wants done in these times. Do not be caught up in taking sides with the world, or with your sisters and brothers in Christ unless it is based on scripture, the Whole Counsel of God. In Proverbs 3:5 - 6, it states for us to "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

We need to know we have a good father, who will go the last mile and beyond with us. We need to know, understand, and believe God loves us unconditional, and He wants to have a personal relationship with us, so He may tell His angels, "Watch out for that one, because he/she belongs to me, "Amen!

Read what Paul said about the love God has for us when he asked these questions.

Romans 8: 35 - 39 (Amplified Version) "Who shall ever separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? And continues by saying -

Just as it is written and forever remains written, "For Your Sake We Are Put To Death All Day Long; We are Regarded As Sheep For the Slaughter."

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us].

For I am convinced (and continue to be convinced - beyond any doubt) that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hallelujah!

What about that for being a Good Father? Some of our earthly fathers didn't have the love of God to do what was needed for us, but God allowed us to be borne anyway - for He had a great plan for our life. Do you know anyone else who could wear these shoes, or even able to make good on these powerful words? If you know as I do, No, there is no one else I would trust and believe this to be true. God knows our ending from our beginning, and He is now walking with us through to our ending for He is God, and there is no one like Him. Continue to be blessed in the Lord. Amen!

Glory To The Most High God, And Our Everlasting And Eternal Father! Hallelujah!
